Jacob Lucero started playing the violin when he was in 7th grade. Born in Montrose, Colorado, he joined the Valley Youth Orchestra where he was a member and Concert Master until graduating from Rocky Mountain International Academy. During high school Jacob was also a member of the Valley Symphony Orchestra.
After graduation he attended Western State Colorado University in Gunnison and received his B.A in Music Education and Music Business. While he was studying at Western State, he was the Concert Master of the Western State Colorado University Orchestra, and Western State Colorado University Chamber Ensemble. His primary teachers were Kenneth W. Todd, Richard Fuchs, and had the opportunity to take a master class with Max Rabinovitsj.
Jacob and his wife, Melodie, moved to Fort Collins the spring of 2011, he received his Teaching License in the State of Colorado, and he is a certified Little Kids Rock Teacher. Jacob has played with the Valley Symphony Orchestra, Loveland Orchestra, Fort Collins Strings, The Melodic Motive, and multiple worship bands.
In July 2014, Jacob and Melodie will make the move to Seattle Washington to teach kids, live, and perform!
He has been accepted to work on a doctorate in music at University of Northern Colorado for Fall 2013. He currently plays in a 16-piece swing band called “The Mile High Mood Swings” and also plays with Jacob in the praise band for Antioch Community Church in Fort Collins.
